About Us

Mission Statement

To be a community working together to meet the needs of our neighbors. To be a source of hope and respect for everyone, working toward a day when no one is homeless.

On January 05,2010 Don Primrose opened Hundred Nights as an emergency cold weather shelter for those homeless whom were unable to find a room in Keene.

Hundred Nights has been providing support and encouragement to homeless and displaced individuals since it opened its doors. As an organization,we have continued to provide an emergency cold weather shelter as well as a Drop-In and Resource Center for our community-at-large.

During our first season – January 5 through March 21,2010,Hundred Nights provided 1,231 beds and served 96 different guests (61 from Keene),with 51 volunteers. Of those 96 guests,17 found full-time jobs and several found part-time jobs. Six families, eleven individuals and one veteran were placed in other shelters or were found permanent housing.

Our second season – December through March,2011,Hundred Nights provided 1682 beds and served 104 different guests from Keene and our surrounding communities.

Hundred Nights is located in downtown Keene, the county seat. It serves the 23 towns in Cheshire County, with a population of approximately 75,965. While the majority of those individuals and families that use Hundred Nights Cold Weather Shelter and Open Doors Resource Center come from Keene, some guests are from adjoining towns.
